Brisbane, capital of Queensland, boasts two courses, Doomben and Eagle Farm, both run by the Brisbane Racing Club, which was formed in July 2009 as the result of a merger between Queensland Turf Club and Brisbane Turf Club.

Within reach of Brisbane are miles of wonderful coastline. The Sunshine coast north of Brisbane and the Gold Coast to its South, are popular with visitors from both within Australia and overseas. There is everything from beachside locations and surfing to mountain villages including Maleny and Montville in the Noosa Hinterland and Blackall Ranges.

The area is also home to several theme parks, including Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, the Buderim Ginger Factory and the Big Pineapple.
